2021.10.27 14:02 nomdreas Serious Question: Would dressing Kurtis Gabriel tonight make a significant statement?

I’m sure by now everyone has read over the investigation against the very team we are playing against tonight. It’s appalling and absolutely unacceptable.
We have a player in our organization who is an active leader in breaking down the social barriers in the game we love. Dressing Gabriel would be a huge statement. Not only for us to show our support to the LBGTQ+ community as we play a team that has turned their head to the acceptance of homophobia in their locker room but also a message to our players that we care about them as people and the grass sure as hell Isn’t greener elsewhere.
The morale boost that could be brought by showing support to a member of the organization could be infectious and turn around a locker room in dark times. Sometimes it’s the small investments in people that bring out the best in everyone. I know if he were in my locker room tonight against the team we are playing I would feel like a total piece of shit not giving it my all.
Not to mention it would be amazing to see Gabriel level a few dudes to send a message.
Thoughts?

2021.10.27 14:02 aragornsharma The right book but the wrong time

I am not sure if it's just me, but sometimes I feel that, just like with people, we come across some books which are right but our timing is wrong.
Eg. A few years back I was in a mental place where it was nearly impossible for me to read Murakami. It would reinforce my feelings of loneliness and loss. I could not flip through the pages of Men without Women without feeling emptiness in my stomach and a chill in my chest. Like there were real physical feelings that those pages evoked inside me. I am glad that I am at a place in my life where I can go back to these books and read them. I don't feel any such emotions now when I read them. And this is very fascinating to me.
I understand why I felt the way I felt at that time. An ending of a long-term relationship, graduating college, and moving away from friends - all of these accentuated my feeling of loss and rejection. And these books had characters who were dealing with these emotions as well and rather than giving me an escape or comfort they brought a feeling of despair.
Most of Murakami's work and If on a winter's night a traveler were few of such books which were right but I came across them at the wrong time.
I am interested to know which books you couldn't read at first, but later in life, you started enjoying them.

The new term will soon be a stock Tsunami … read on : This SPAC is so under the radar on a relative basis … if people want to understand how stocks like this move seemingly out of nowhere before they are all over the chat / boards they should start watching it now along with the options … juts like a tsunami whereas if you are out on the boat in the middle of the ocean you don’t notice it’s passed right underneath you and it’s only until it gains more momentum and gets into shallow water it begins to crest and the boom … people unaware of where it came from !

2021.10.27 14:02 autotldr China says Taiwan ‘has no right’ to join UN, after US nod

This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 63%. (I'm a bot)

China has again said that Taiwan has "No right" to join the United Nations, a day after the United States voiced support for the island's "Meaningful participation" at the organisation.
The back-and-forth comes days after Taiwanese officials spoke with US officials about Taiwan's desire to have a role at the UN. Taiwan had held the Chinese seat at the organisation until October 25, 1971, when it was voted out as representative of the country in favour of the People's Republic of China, which won the civil war in 1949 and forced the republican government to flee to the island.
On Wednesday, in response to US support for Taipei's endeavour, the spokesman for the Taiwan Affairs Office in Beijing Ma Xiaoguang said Taiwan "Has no right to join the United Nations".
"The United Nations is an international governmental organisation composed of sovereign states Taiwan is a part of China," Xiaoguang told reporters.
The US, like many countries, switched recognition to the People's Republic of China in Beijing in 1979 but maintains a policy of "Strategic ambiguity" with the island under the Taiwan Relations Act of 1979.
For her part, Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen welcomed Blinken's support for wider participation on the world stage.

2021.10.27 14:02 TheBiggestCheeseBall Tibalts Trickery not countering Saw It Coming?

Submitted a ticket for this but I wanted to post here as well to see if anyone has experienced this.
I just lost my 3rd ranked game to this (almost) exact play. In the most recent incident, I play Lolth. Opp plays Saw It Coming (foretold). I play Tibalts Trickery on Saw It Coming. Effect goes off, he gets that Stowaway Werewolf. Ok great, except... as the triggers go off, Lolth goes to the graveyard.
Am I missing something here? I'm 99% certain this is a bug but maybe there is some small text thing I'm overlooking?

2021.10.27 14:02 Duarte_ML Recursive function with haskell

Hello. I'm working on some haskell exercises. One of them is about writting a recursive function. It receives a number n and a number m >= 0, and it should return the list [n^0, ..., n^(m-1)]. I'm having some trouble defining the function for m >= 0. Can some one give me some help please.
This is what i have so far:
powerEnumFrom :: Int -> Int -> [Int]
powerEnumFrom n m | m == 0 = [1]
| m >= 0 = ???????????

2021.10.27 14:01 sansilvergo Uranium Bull Case Strengthens As Japan Calls Nuclear "Key"

Uranium Bull Case Strengthens As Japan Calls Nuclear Days after the U.K. said that nuclear would be “at the heart” of its decarbonization strategy, Japan has now called nuclear reactor restarts “key” to achieving its own green energy goals. This marks a far quicker global adoption of nuclear during the ESG age than I had anticipated and, in my opinion, will likely bode well for my long-term uranium bull case.
Last Friday, Japan adopted a new energy policy that went little noticed by those participating in the uranium market.
The plan seeks to bring the country to carbon neutrality by 2050, according to AP.
And while this plan is mostly in line with what many other countries are implementing, the proverbial angel for uranium investors may be in the details.
"Japan has been undecided over what to do about its nuclear power industry since the 2011 Fukushima plant disaster. It now says reactor restarts are key to meeting emissions targets as Japan tries to step up in the global effort against climate change," the AP report reads.
Fumio Kishida, who is replacing Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, is officially "a backer of nuclear plant restarts", the report notes.
As you can see by the below chart, the country’s operable nuclear power capacity has dwindled in the years following the 2011 incident, after rising steadily in the 4 decades prior.

As common sense slowly starts to win the day in counties like Japan, I am expecting this capacity to once again rise to, and past, all time highs.
I had pointed out...
